Missed Appointment Policy
Our goal is to provide quality dental care to all our patients in a timely manner. No-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations inconvenience not only our providers, but our other patients as well. Please be aware of our policy regarding missed appointments.
Appointment Cancellation
When you book your appointment, you are holding a space on our calendar that is no longer available to our other patients. In order to be respectful of your fellow patients, please call Dr. Edward O Villarreal’s office as soon as you know you will not be able to make your appointment. If cancellation is necessary, we require that you call at least 48 hours in advance. Appointments are in high demand, and your advanced notice will allow another patient access to that appointment time.
How to Cancel Your Appointment
If you need to cancel your appointment, please call us at 812-299-8715 between the hours of 9am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm Monday – Thursday. If necessary, you may leave a detailed voicemail message. We will return your call as soon as possible. Or you can also contact us by text. Please click “Contact Us” and send us a text message and we will return your message.
Late Cancellations/No-Shows
A cancellation is considered late when the appointment is canceled less than 48 hr before the appointed time. A no-show is when a patient misses an appointment without canceling. In either case, we have the right to charge the patient a $25 missed appointment fee. Friendly reminder letters will be sent out to patients when it’s their final warning of a failed / cancelation policy.
Appointments That Are Not Confirmed
When appointments are made, text message reminders are sent to your phone or to you email. Our office uses multiple ways to confirm appointments, whether it be by email, text message, or by phone call. Every effort is used and attempted to reach a patient to confirm a scheduled appointment made by the patient to confirm. When appointments are not confirmed, we do not know if you are going to be here or not. Many times it results in a no show. If appointments are not confirmed by the day of your scheduled appointment, your appointment might be given away to another patient. Please know, by that time, we have exalted every effort to get ahold of you. If you do show up, and your appointment was “given away,” if the schedule allows, we will try our best to accommodate. Otherwise, a reschedule will be necessary. To avoid this issue, we do need all appointments to be confirmed.
